Writing and Reflecting to Learn
Keeping up writing in the blog hasn’t gone al that well (frequency wise) over the past 6 months. Its not due to lack of ideas and things to say its, just carving out that time to write it down so I can go back to it later. So why blog (or reflect) at all?
Reflecting helps to keep thoughts organised. I like to write ideas down. I dont always share these ideas, I have many unpublished half baked ideas in posts which I go back to now and then to add or develop. I rarely delete ideas, I let them bubble. It’s my learning diary.
Reflecting develops your digital footprint as a learner. Show yourself as a thinker in your community. Others appreciate your contribution, thoughts and ideas.Just by being a ‘player’ and sharing shows you are enthused about your own learning. Who knows someone might even comment or you might make a few connections along the way.
Reflecting allows you to share and get feedback from others. The most powerful thing for me is getting some feedback, ideas or even a criticism.
Blogged once a week for 3 years, then it stopped. Tried to get back in the habit so many times, posted every 4 months and have posts that are half done in draft form. It is something that I have been thinking a lot about the past few months as it was such a great way to put ideas down in words and focus next steps. Maybe this post will get me blogging again?
