Gone Google Breakfast
Last week we celebrated 6 months of ‘Going Google’.
Bandung International School has officially been approved by Google to use their free educational applications suite. Selected staff (the BIS Gmail Ninjas) starting a few months ago by trialing Gmail in the lead-up to going community wide this academic year. As we moved into Google Education Applications, ‘bisdragons.com’ has been phased out and replaced with bisedu.or.id email addresses. The elementary school have started using Blogger.
To celebrate this move to Google, the IT team organised a Pancake Breakfast on Tuesday 13th December. We have certainly come a long way since the launch of the BIS Gmail Ninjas, and we look forward to making even better use of Google Apps in 2012.
This move to Google Apps provides the opportunity to meet the following IB standard and practices:
Standard B2: Resources and support
The school’s resources and support structures ensure the implementation of the IB programme(s).
1. The governing body allocates funding for the implementation and ongoing development of the programme(s).
5. The physical and virtual learning environments, facilities, resource and specialized equipment support the implementation of the programme(s).
11. The school utilizes the resources and expertise of the community to enhance learning within the programme(s).
Many thanks to all involved in the move to Google Apps, ensuring that our resources and support structures ensure the implementation of our school programmes.

I just love Google!
The apps are very user friendly; I don’t need to call my sons (students @ Bandung International School) to to rescue me!
Btw: we also included GlutenFree pancakes for two teachers … Google inspires to make other changes too 😉
