The Hive

Last week at the EARCOS Teachers Conference in KK, Malaysia I was introduced to a new concept- THE HIVE. Well Michael Boll gave me this idea about collaborative learning. The Hive is essentially the collective mind of the group, where ideas, thoughts, questions or anything can be discussed. Many brains better than 1 is the concept behind this. So a backchannel was set up, as the workshop went forth, the Hive was able to comment on, collect resources and discuss all from the comfort of their own computer. Members from the hive were not only those sitting in the class or enrolled in the course.
